Android Headlines reported that Huawei has taken legal action against Amazon over the the use of E Ink displays in the Kindle eReaders, which are made in China by Compal. The report said that Huawei has sold 110,000 MatePad Paper sets in China, surpassing the sale of Kindles. The court case is due to start on December 8th.
Amazon has already said that it will withdraw the Kindle from China in 2023 and the App by June 2024.
What We Think
It’s hard to get my head around Amazon breaking someone else’s patents in this area, but Huawei is, no doubt, sure of its ground. I wonder if it’s related to pen input or some other aspect? (BR)
