Altice has acquired Cablevision Systems Corporation, for $17.7 billion, a deal that creates the fourth-largest cable operator in the USA.
Cablevision serves the US metropolitan area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut), with a network of more than 5 million premises and 3.1 million customers.
The deal includes Cablevision as well as its subsidiary divisions: Lightpath (business services); New 12 Networks (local news); Newsday Media Group (newspaper) and Cablevision Media Sales (advertising sales).
