AirTies of Turkey has developed a new UltraHD TV STB for IPTV that supports the Android TV operating system, and intended for sale by operators, rather than being a retail product.
Technical specs of the Air 7415 include
- Hardware: Broadcom’s BCM72604 chipset; 7K DMIPS; 2 GB RAM
- OS/Apps: Android TV; supports apps such as YouTube, Google Cast, voice controls, games and more
- Video Quality: Support for UHD, HDR and SDR-HDR conversion
- Wireless: 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi; and Bluetooth
- Dimensions/Weight: Compact, fan-less design of 10cm x 10cm x 2cm; 180gr
Analyst Comment
AirTies has ‘secret sauce’ in its high quality, bandwidth and reliability Wi-Fi technology which has been adopted by a number of big vendors including Sky. We’ve been following the company since we met them at IBC in 2009 when it was talking about trying to create a ‘negative brain drain’ to attract engineers back to Turkey and it’s gratifying to see the company developing. We plan to catch up again at this year’s event.
When we met them at first, the company was only a regional supplier for the Turkish, Greek and the Ukraine. (BR)
