Apple may release a version of firmware for the Apple TV (tvOS 11.4) that may include support for Airplay 2, although it is not certain as Apple has previously included it in Betas and then not released it. Other audio vendors are keen on the new protocol as it offers significantly improved audio support functions and was announced last year at the Apple developers’ conference.
The next major release of tvOS will be in June.
