A group of broadcast and media industry suppliers has formed an alliance, in support of open standards for broadcasters.
Grass Valley, Imagine Communications, Snell Advanced Media, Nevion and Lawo have formed the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS). The group has been formed to support the VSF TR-03/-04, SMPTE 2022-6 and AES67 standards.
The group brings together parties that want to move the broadcast industry from SDI to IP, using industry standards and interoperable solutions. AIMS will work with the Video Services Forum and other standards bodies on the move. Both future and existing standards will be promoted, as well as solutions based on them.
AIMS and its member companies will provide media companies with assurances that the solutions that they purchase today will work with their facilities of the future.
