Asahi Glas Corporation (AGC) said that it has started mass production of its 3D curved cover glass for car-mounted displays at its Keihin Plant in Japan and said that it is the first such production facility globally. It has also decided that it will boost its production capacity to respond to demand. The glass has an anti-reflective surface and is a development of flat glass that started in 2014 and was boosted in production capacity in 2016.
The curved glass, as well as having an anti-reflective coating, is chemically strengthened and can be surface printed. The company believes that car makers will want larger curved glass surfaces in cars in the future.
