Acer’s prosumer CB display range, which began with the CB280HK (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 30), has grown with the addition of the CB270HU and CB290C. Both feature Acer’s flicker-free backlight technology, sRGB gamut coverage and an ergonomic stand. The stand provides 150mm height adjustment, -5 deg to 35 deg tilt, 90 deg pivot and 120 deg swivel.
Both monitors feature DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI ports as well as dual speakers. They have a 6ms response time, 178 deg viewing angles and show 8-bit colour, but use different panel types: AHVA on the 27″ CB270HU and IPS on the 29″ CB290C.
The CB270HU has 350 cd/m² of brightness. Its resolution of 2560 x 1440 provides a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 29″ counterpart has 2560 x 1080 resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Acer is selling its new CB-series monitors now, starting at €335 ex VAT.
