Absen Inc in the US has launched a new fixed indoor LED range that were announced at the WFX Conference and Expo. The die cast aluminium cabinets are available in 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 1.9mm, 2.5mm and 3.8mm pitch and the units are 27.5″ diagonal with a 16:9 format so that units can be combined to match the scale of 55″ LCDs, but without bezels. A 55″ configuration can use a standard VESA mount. FullHD resolution can be achieved in diagonals from 110″ to 330″ as the cabinets support resolutions that are designed to support convenient multiples.
Brightness goes from 600 cd/m² on the 1.2mm to 1,000 cd/m² on the 2.5 and 3.8mm units. Drive is 1920 Hz for the 1.2 and 1.5mm versions, but this can be doubled on request.

The units are available with an Easy Mount kit that allows mounting with a 4″ depth for ADA compliance. The four modules in the cabinet are held in place by magnets and cabinets can be mounted at up to ±90º angles or curves.
Lifetime is quoted at 100,000 hours and the Acclaim displays have black masks that increase contrast, yet are simple to take off and put on to allow repair of the modules’ LEDs.
