A Chance to Try Headsets at IT2EC

What They Say

We’re planning a fuller report for (at least one) Display Daily in the next few days, but to get the news out a bit quicker for subscribers, here is some early news from IT²EC at the Excel in London, which I visited yesterday.

  • JVC was showing a new €15,000 headset based on birdbath optics that looked good, with a very wide FOV and a transparent section, but was heavy.
  • I finally got a chance to try the Varjo Aero, which was a great headset for Microsoft Flight Sim. It’s great and light with enough resolution for no screen door and to read the flight instruments. (Varjo Gets Aero)
  • I had a great chat with VRgineers of the Czech Republic on how simulation is moving away from domes to VR simulators down to personal systems. I tried the Xtal system
  • Matrox had a new black box to connect 2110 IP-based AV content to other AV connections such as HDBaseT

What We Think

I enjoyed this chance to actually try on some high end headsets, again! (BR)
