What They Say
I’m not sure how we missed it, but Philips launched the 24B1D5600 monitor recently in China, which combines a 23.8″ 2560 x 1440 75Hz IPS LCD and a 13.3″ 1200 x 1600 front-lit E Ink Carta display. The LCD has 250 cd/m² of output with 99.98% sRGB coverage and a USB port with 15W charging. It is selling for Yuan5,999 ($840).
What We Think
Hmmm, the E Ink section looks as though it might be detachable, but I can’t find any confirmation of this. Otherwise, I would assume that the monitor is designed for those that prefer an EPD display as being more comfortable than an LCD. I rather think that this product might have been developed ‘because we can’! (BR)
