Primeview Highlights its own 21:9 LED Displays

What They Say

I wrote a Display Daily last week about 21:9 displays (Wider Still & Wider…) and Primeview followed up swiftly to tell us about its own 105″ 5K display with integrated touch and a 4mm anti-glare protective glass screen. There is an integrated OLS Core i5 computer. Brightness is 400 cd/m² and contrast is 1,200:1, so it’s an IPS panel. Interestingly, the packaged weight is 156kg/344lbs and the firm said on its fact sheet that:

Unit is large and extremely fragile, requiring extra care in handling, transporting, and delivery to avoid damage and or voiding of warranty.

The display can support 4K over HDMI or 5K over DisplayPort.

The firm also sent details on its monolithic Fusionmax 21:9 LED displays using 1.2mm (144″ 2880 x 1080), 1.5mm (168″ 2688 x 1080), 1.9mm (192″ 2560 x 1080) and 2.5mm (264″ 2640 x 1080).

What We Think

The LEDs are interesting, but they look big enough that they would not really be very useful for interactive displays as they would be too high. There is no mention of special features to add resilience (LEDs are easily damaged) or add touch facilities.

We found a video online showing the LCD. (BR)
