What They Say
9to5Mac reports that the iPhone 14 Pro’s ‘always on’ screen will show background images, but with reduced brightness and contrast, in sleep mode. That is in contrast to Android, where the background screen is not shown. The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to run iS16 and may be able to operated at refresh rates as low as 1Hz. Vector images can be shown and bitmapped images can have a ‘sleep’ state.

What We Think
Well this is a bit of a software detail, but it’s interesting to see ‘always on’ displays showing more and more information. (BR)
