GizmoChina reported that the Oppo Air Glass system (Oppo announces the Air Glass monocle AR device) is due to be on sale in China at 4,999 yuan (~$791) in silver or black. Features include:
- single glass design with a proprietary ‘Spark’ microprojector (greyscale microLED-based) (640 x 480)
- 16/256 grey level modes with up to 1,400 cd/m²
- custom optical diffraction waveguide
- touch, voice, hand motions, and head movements can be used for interaction
- Real-time Chinese-English two way translation ( Chinese-Japanese and Chinese-Korean on the way)
- Real-time GPS directions
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100
What We Think
This looks an interesting product. The price looks a bit high, but it does look like a good specification and I’m looking forward to seeing some feedback on how good it really is. (BR)
