What They Say
IDC published a release that forecast that the gaming PC and monitor market would grow from 41.3 million units in 2020 to 52.3 million in 2025, with monitors almost doubling from 14.2 million to 26.4 million – a CAGR of 13.2%
In Q2, the combined segment saw 15.6 million units sold, up 19.3% on last year.
Overall, the value of the combined gaming PC and monitor markets is expected to grow from $43 billion in 2020 to just over $60 billion in 2025 with a five-year CAGR of 7.4%. However, while PCs will rise in price from $925 last year to $1007, monitors are expected to decline from $339 to $309 in 2025.
What We Think
Most vendors would be very happy to accept a 10% decline in pricing over five years in return for a CAGR of 13.2% in units. In monitors, they will be even happier to see those numbers! (BR)
