XBox chief Phil Spencer, speaking on the Kinda Funny Gamescast rated the Quest 2 headset as very good, partly because it works so well untethered. Microsoft still has no plan to create a headset, but is thinking about providing content. Eventually, however if the XBox environment got bigger, there would be more of a reason to develop a headset.
What We Think
Spencer has previously been quite negative about the prospects for VR. Upload VR suggested that as Microsoft has moved to more virtual gaming, it could bring Quest 2 support to some xCloud applications. One way to support the Quest 2 and other headsets would be the adoption and support of the Khronos OpenXR platform. (BR)
