What They Say
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo according to 9to5Mac said in an investment note that Apple will use microOLED displays, “innovative biometrics” and as many as 15 cameras in its widely rumoured VR/AR headsets which are expected in Q2 2022. It is also reported to be using lenses from Genius, a supplier of components for iPhones.
Other analysts have suggested a launch announcement ‘in the next few months’.
What We Think
The headset hardware will need some software support if it is to act as a ‘platform’ as Apple’s other products do. That means time to get supporters on board to develop and optimise apps. (BR)
