What They Say
We missed it at the time, but the Motion Picture Association published a 63 page report on trends in entertainment in 2020. It’s no surprise that the report finds that the combined market for home and theatrical entertainment (excluding pay TV) dropped in 2020. The 72% drop in theatrical income was partially offset by a 31% increase in home/mobile entertainment. The report covers the global and US trends.
What We Think
I didn’t see anything that surprised me in the report, but it’s a very good free resource of data and trends in entertainment. It’s strong on the US market. (BR)
