What They Say
Mark Zuckerberg continued his promotion of the importance of XR with an interview with CNet in which he said that the firm may bring out a Quest Pro higher end product that might include gaze technology and face/mouth tracking. Mouth tracking would allow more realistic avatar interactions. On pricing, he said that the aim was to get the headsets to as many consumers as possible, rather than profit maximisation.
The firm is also working hard on its Horizon metaverse and plans to evolve it over time. The first apps are primarily gaming, but over time more social apps are appearing.
What We Think
This interview seems to be part of a shift in Facebook’s PR output to improve the image of the firm, which has been mainly negative recently. (BR)
