ISE & MWC Postponements Still under Discussion

What They Say

As promised (ISE Sticks with June), the DailyDOOH held an online discussion on the topic of the planned holding of the next ISE show in June. The website reports that the show has shrunk (no surprise there) and callers highlighted the concerns of workers that might be asked to attend. Travel and quarantine restrictions in just a few months are also unclear, although vaccination programmes may help potential attendees to feel more comfortable.

Separately, following reports in the Spanish press that MWC, due for the end of June in Barcelona, may be postponed again or cancelled, the organisers have confirmed that they are still planning for the end of June.

What We Think

I was lucky enough to get my first vaccine jab last weekend, although here in the UK, the second one won’t be for 12 weeks which would mean early May. Once I’ve had that, I’ll have to think hard about whether to go to Barcelona and see what the travel regulations are. At the moment, travel from Spain is not very restricted, but Portugal is on the UK’s ‘red list’ meaning mandatory hotel quarantine and extensive testing. (BR)
