Poly announced the new Poly Studio P Series of video conferencing products including the Poly Studio P21 Personal Meeting Display, a 21″ monitor with ‘dynamic ambient lighting’, an integrated USB camera and speakers. The base has wireless mobile phone charging.
Pricing is (are you sitting down?) $815 in the US.
What We Think
This really is a story about pricing. The monitor looks competent enough, although specifications are not highlighted (to put it mildly!) The camera (1080p) and microphone/speakers should be good, and there are LED lights on the side to help light the person on the conference call. However, a price this high would really suggest something dramatic, and there is no evidence of that. In fact, I wondered if it was a complete system, but no, it’s just a monitor! (BR)
