“the world’s leading diffractive optical waveguide technology with a light transmittance of 85% and 40° field of view (FOV).”
The headset’s room-scale simultaneous localisation and movement (SLAM) tracking is based on its single RGB camera. The pricing and release date are yet to be announced.
Currently, Rokid XR software system supports Android and Unity for app developers, and several mainstream hardware platforms, including HiSilcon, Amlogic, and Qualcomm according to RoadtoVR.
On its website, Rokid claims partnerships with Daimler, Alibaba, Deutsche Telekom, Formula 1, Qualcomm, Foxconn, China Telecom and China Mobile, among others.
What We Think
The light transmittance claim of 85% at 40° field of view is a big one and it will be interesting to see if it turns out to be that efficient when it comes to market. (BR)
