Panasonic Headset Moves on

What They Say

Panasonic revealed more about its work on VR glasses, with a revised version which now includes “optical technologies used in Lumix digital cameras”. The glasses use Kopin’s 2560 x 2560 ‘Lightning’ microOLEDs and support HDR and 120Hz. They would connect to a PC or 5G smartphone via USB Type-C.

Pricing and specifications are yet to be announced.

What We Think

The quality of the images on this headset should be very impressive indeed and the industrial design seems to do well as minimising the weight and bulk of the devices. The design almost looks as though you could make a variant with AR capabilities in the future, using transparent OLEDs. (BR)
