Kopin Corp put out a release revealing that it has shipped its first production shipment of 720P 0.49″ diagonal (12.45 mm) microdisplays. The displays support >90% of sRGB and have a duo-stack OLED structure for high current efficiency. (>10 cd/A)
The Duo-stack structure was developed by Kopin’s foundry partner, Lakeside Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. Kopin did not name the customer but said it was a US company.
What We Think
Matt wrote about the duo-stack architecture when it was revealed in June (Kopin Introduces ColorMax Duo-Stack OLED for VR/AR/MR). To get from that stage to production shipments in this time is a good achievement. (BR)
