Optoma Launches New Ultra Short Throw Series

Optoma has just launched a new range of bright ultra short throw DLP-based projectors designed for businesses, schools and colleges.

EH330UST

The new range includes Full HD 1080p, 1280 x 800 (WXGA) and 1024 x 768 (XGA) resolutions and are claimed to be smaller, lighter and run quieter than comparable projectors.

At 3600 lumens they are said to be ideal for teaching or meeting rooms with ambient light but are efficient with the expected 240W lamp life in eco mode of 15,000 hours.

As well as the usual dual HDMI + MHL, VGA and composite inputs, presentations can be plugged in from a USB device and played via the projector’s built-in photo and document viewer without the need for a laptop or PC. All models have vertical and horizontal keystone and four corner geometric adjustment.

The throw ratio of 0.25:1 for the 1080p model, 0.27:1 for the WXGA model and 0.33:1 for the XGA model means they can project a 100 inch image (diagonal) from just over 0.5m away.

Full support is provided for Crestron, Extron, AMX, PJ-Link and Telnet LAN commands, which allow almost all aspects of these projectors to be controlled remotely across a network. An audio input is also included which cuts out the need for additional audio hardware and cabling. For wireless presentations from a laptop or mobile device, the Optoma wireless WUSB adapter (sold separately) can be connected to the USB output.

The compact chassis design incorporates a built-in speaker that delivers 16W audio.
