New LG Phone Boosts Audio and Brightness

LG had already revealed that its new G7 ThinQ smartphone would have a new display. It’s a 6.1″ 3120 x 1440 (QuadHD+) IPS LCD with 1,000 cd/m² and with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Now the rest of the phone has been revealed. Another display-related feature is automatic brightness adjustment based on ambient conditions. However, most of the emphasis is on the AI features and how they can be used on photos.

The phone also has better audio and a far field microphone design to improve voice control, and it also has a dedicated Google Assistant key.

The phone is fitted with Gorilla Glass 5 and the phone supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It is based on a Snapdragon 645 octa core processor with 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB. The main cameras are dual and single 16MP units and video recording is at 2160@30fps. The selfie camera is an 8MP unit. The fingerprint system is on the reverse and the battery has a 3,000 mAh capacity.

LG highlighted the audio and the phone has DTS-X certification. The BBC checks it out here.

The connector is a USB Type-C that supports USB On-the-go.

In Europe, the G7 has been priced for pre-release purchase at €849 and will be available at the end of the month.
