Eutelsat’s Director of Global Market Research, Claudia Vaccarone, backed up statements from Vivicast Media president Stuart Smitherman and Northern Sky Research president Christopher Baugh, saying that the US is about two years behind the rest of the world with Ultra HD, especially Europe, due to a lack of capable set-top-box technology.
According to Advanced Television, Vaccarone made the comments at last week’s MIPTV conference in Cannes. (Ultra HD TV Channels Have Grown 26% in the Last Six Months)
