Sharp has announced new edge-lit UltraHD displays in 70″ (PN-UH701) and 60″ (PN-UH601) intended for hospitality, business and retail applications. The monitors have dual HDMI inputs and a USB port for playback of content. There is a ‘lockout’ feature for applications where the displays may be accessible by the public, but control can be achieved via RS-232C.
The panel on both is just 300 cd/m² of output with 4,000:1 contrast (so the panels are VA). There are dual 10W speakers and an integrated digital tuner.
The monitors have a three year warranty and although there are general warnings about image sticking, there is no limit on the usage hours.
