Pico is a Chinese company with 300 employees globally and has released a standalone (no smartphone or PC needed) VR headset. The display is a 5.5″ ‘super fast’ LCD with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU with LPDDR4-1866 RAM and 16G eMMC 5.1 ROM. The headset is supplied with a 3DoF handset controller.
The headset costs $279 and is available now. There are 70 games available on the firm’s own store at prices from $0.99 to $9.99.
