Twitter has signed an agreement with two esports companies, ESL and DreamHack, to live stream events and original content, with all events available globally. During 2017, more than 15 events will be live streamed on Twitter and connected devices. Already shown, on 4th March, was the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, which was the first tournament to be live streamed.
As part of the agreement, live original content for Twitter will be produced by ESL including a weekly half-hour show featuring highlights and behind-the-scenes footage. The first DreamHack event to be live streamed, will be the DreamHack Austin in April. All other DreamHack events will also be live streamed. The live streams will also include sponsored TV-style advertising and highlights.
