JVC added three new models to its e-Shift line of 4K projectors. These models use a trio of 1080 imagers and an image shifting optic to get resolution somewhere between native 4K and 1080.
Previously, JVC kept its reference commercial projectors and home theater projectors as separate but very similar models. At CES 2017, they dropped this rather artificial separation and combined the model names. The new models are:
- DLA-X570R/RS420 – 40K:1 native contrast, 1800 lumens, $3,995
- DLA-X770R/RS520 – 130K:1 native contrast, 1900 lumens, THX 3D certification, $7,995
- DLA-X970R/RS620 – 160K:1 native contrast, 2000 lumens, THX 3D certification, $9,995
JVC has added a new controller/electronic board that has reduced the latency so that the projectors work better for gaming applications. All are HDR-compatible meaning they have a PQ and HLG EOTF installed and an HDR mode that uses this for HDR10 or HLG broadcast content. They all have fully motorized lenses with lens memory too. – CC
