Fujitsu has confirmed that it is exploring a relationship with Lenovo for its PC business, but has denied that Lenovo will acquire it (Fujitsu In Talks with Lenovo over PCs). The plans look as they are proceeding some way, as EETimes reports that discussions are under way to finance the move, with the Development Bank of Japan. The companies put out a statement that they would collaborate as there had been rumours that Lenovo would acquire the business. However, the collaboration is said to be under discussion for R&D and manufacturing and would mean that Fujitsu would continue to use its brand and develop support and services.
Fujitsu spun off the PC business as FCCL, a wholly-owned subsidiary in February of this year.
