IBC Chooses Apantac for Football Streams

Apantac’s UltraHD conversion technology is being used by the Euro International Broadcast Centre in Paris, during the UEFA football tournament. The IBC receives uncompressed UHD feeds, via fibre, from the main venues. It was a challenge to view these 4:2:2 feeds on UHD monitors in full 4:4:4 10-bit colour at 50Hz; this was solved using NEC monitors supporting DisplayPort 1.2, with converters. Apantac’s UltraHD to DisplayPort converter (Micro-4k-DP) was used: one to drive a 98″ NEC display in its main lobby and another, with a 65″ display, in its control room.
