Mitsubishi Research has forecast that adoption of UltraHD TV sets in Japan will grow rapidly, starting next year, Advanced Television reports. Around 1.2 million were purchased in 2015, and 3.3 million are expected to be sold this year. 2017 will signal faster growth, with Mitsubishi predicting sales of 6.8 million sets, and more than 12 million in 2018. The increase will continue, to 19 million in 2019; 26.3 million in 2020; 33.6 million in 2021; and 40.2 million in 2022.
