TCL has introduced its Nxtpaper smartphone series with two new devices, the TCL 40 Nxtpaper and the TCL 40 Nxtpaper 5G.
The TCL 40 Nxtpaper boasts a 6.78” FHD+ Nxtpaper display, designed to offer a unique paper-like viewing experience. Not only does this technology aim to reduce harmful blue light, but it’s also been designed to be both anti-glare and smudge-resistant, offering comfort for extended use. In terms of camera specifications, the device has a 32MP front camera and a triple rear camera setup which includes a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. As for its storage and memory, the TCL 40 Nxtpaper comes with 256GB internal storage paired with 8GB RAM, with an additional option to expand with an extra 8GB of virtual RAM.
The TCL 40 Nxtpaper 5G, while maintaining many of the screen qualities of its sibling, is geared more towards users who need faster connectivity. This model is equipped with a 6.6″ HD+ Nxtpaper display and 5G capabilities, promising faster internet speeds. Storage specifications include 256GB of internal space and 6GB RAM, with a provision to expand with an additional 6GB virtual RAM. The camera setup on the 5G model is slightly different, featuring an 8MP front camera and a rear array consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and another 2MP macro sensor.
Both phones are set to be released in Europe initially, with the TCL 40 Nxtpaper priced at €199 ($216) launching in September, followed by the TCL 40 Nxtpaper 5G at €249 ($271) in October. Subsequent global releases for both models are expected later this year.
