An article on Mobile Choice UK claims that Nokia may be planning a return to the mobile market, with a mid-range phone called the C1. The phone would be available in two versions – Windows 10 or Android – with a 5″ display and 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Analyst Comment
Similar rumours have been around since April (Rumor: Nokia Getting Back into the Phone Business? and Nokia Would Outsource New Phone Production). There has been no official word to back them up, but the Nokia brand is still widely-recognised; a return is not beyond the pale. However, under the terms of the deal with Microsoft, Nokia cannot sell smartphones under its own brand until Q4’16. (TA)
