HP came out of left field with a huge raft of product announcements on our print day. Unfortunately all of our points of contact within the company had attended the launch event in Barcelona, and were flying back when we called for specific information. We will update you when we know more.
Three AIO PCs were announced, all running Windows 10. The flagship is the curved Envy 34: a 34″ display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Like the Envy 34C that we saw at CES (HP to Sell zSpace 3D Monitor – adds 5K and Curved Models), it has speakers on either end.
An IPS panel with 3440 x 1440 resolution is built into the PC’s display, which covers 99% of sRGB and is Technicolor Color Certified. Intel’s new Skylake CPUs are also used: dual-core Core i5 or i7. Integrated graphics are standard, but discrete graphics (GTX 960A) can be installed. Users can choose 8GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options from 128GB (SSD) to 2TB (HDD or SSHD).
Two flat AIO PCs were also announced: the Envy 24 (24″) and Envy 27 (27″). These have the same internal specifications as the Envy 34, and optional AMD Radeon R7 or R9 graphics. They are also Technicolor Color Certified.
Pricing for the AIO PCs starts at $1,800 (Envy 34), $1,200 (Envy 27) and $1,000 (Envy 24). The flat units will be released on the 1st November, followed by the curved model on the 15th.
Another large product was the Envy 32 Media Display. This 32″ monitor has AMD’s Freesync technology and 2560 x 1440 resolution. It also covers 100% of the sRGB gamut. Two 6W front-facing speakers from Bang & Olufsen are installed, with DisplayPort and MHL-HDMI inputs. It will be widely available on the 24th November, for $500.
