The Internal Olympics Committee has said that it has ‘no plans” for UltraHD TV broadcasts during the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcast Services, said, “There is no demand from our rights holders for 4k… We have to take our cue from broadcasters”. Despite that, the OBS still plans to work with Japan’s NHK and trial 8k broadcasts.
