BenQ‘s MW665 and MX666 DLP projectors (Display Monitor Vol 2 No 22) have been enhanced with NFC functionality, which BenQ calls ‘tapNshow’. The new models (MW665+ and MX666+) are available worldwide now; price varies by country.
A new Casio projector called the Core will be launched at BETT (21st – 24th January) in London this year, followed by a European introduction at ISE (10th – 12th February). The Casio Core is a laser/LED model for small- to mid-size areas. It reaches 2,700 lumens of brightness and has an average lifetime of 20,000 hours. We expect further information to be released this month.
Stream TV Networks has announced two new licensees of its glasses-free 3D UltraHD TV products (Ultra-D). In the UK the TVs will be sold by Cello Electronics, with pricing ranging from £2,085 ($3,260) (50″) to £2,915 ($4,555) (65″). Izon will release Ultra-D TVs in the USA, although prices were not shared. Additionally, US-based Inception Digital will be trialling the technology on its digital signage network this year.
