Kyocera has developed two new TFT-LCD display modules for use in bright environments, such as direct sunlight. Because of this, they are suited for use in industrial, medical, aerospace and similar applications.
An LED driver circuit is integrated into both units – the 10.4″ TCG104XGLP and 12.1″ TCG121XGLP. They have a standard LVDS interface and will operate between -30 deg and 80 deg . Both share 1024 x 768 resolution and 170 deg viewing angles. The smaller module has a 700:1 contrast ratio and 1,300 cd/m² of brightness, while the larger has 750:1 and 1,200 cd/m².
Sample units are available now; mass production will begin early next year. Pricing is on request.
