What They Say

Yeolight Technology of China has posted a video of its segmented OLED automotive light system. OLED-Info posted these details.

“The OLED lighting module, which is shaped like a triangle, uses 50 segments each a right-angled triangle with an area of 19 mm2. The segments are created by photolithography with an accuracy of <10 microns and can be controlled independently with 7 different brightness steps. The controller is a STMicroelectronics L99LDLH32 chip. The complete lighting module setup on display uses 9 such pieces for a total of 450 segments. The whole thickness of each module is 1.8 mm.”

OLED-Info also reported on a head-up-display for automotive that is said to have variable transparency between 5% and 75%.

What We Think

We couldnn’t find any confirming information about the HUD, but will keep an eye open for more. We had trouble viewing the video on the firm’s website, so we have put it on our own server. You might want to reduce your speaker volume if you are in a shared space! (BR)
