Xiaomi has developed a new laser-based DLP UST projector that will sell in China for around Yuan 10,000 ($1,500) and has 1080P resolution, 5,000 lumens of output and 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The projector has three HDMI ports but it also has a processor to allow full Android support. The device can create a 150″ image at just 50 cm from the wall. Lifetime is quoted at 25,000 hours and the unit uses an ALPD 3.0 light source from Apotronics.
