Xiamen Tianma Display Technology begins to ship flexible OLED panels

What They Say

Digitimes reported that Xiamen Tianma Display Technology has started to ship flexible OLEDs for smartphones and wearables from August, after starting production at its new G6 fab in February of this year. The panels are using CFOT (color filter on touch) technology in place of polarizers (also known as Pol-less and COE – look here for more [New Insights on How SDC Will Introduce Polarizer-Free OLEDs]- editor).

The report said that Tianma will start to ship foldable panels next year. According to Omdia, Tianma Microelectronics and China-based BOE Technology, China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) and Visionox Technology together had a global market share of 20.5% for OLED panels in the second quarter of 2022, rising 2.8 percentage points year on year.
