Xbox One Outsells PS4 Two Months Running

The Xbox One has achieved higher sales than the PlayStation 4 in both July and August in the USA. Sony has consistently led the charts since both consoles were launched, so this is a big win for Microsoft. Price promotions on the Xbox One in July, followed by the launch of the Xbox One S in August may have contributed to this.

Sony fans may have delayed purchases as they wait for the slimmer PlayStation 4 Pro, which is due in November. However, the new Pro does not include UHD Blu-ray and Microsoft’s Xbox One S has UHD 4K Blu-ray, 4K video streaming and HDR for video and gaming, with the Xbox One Scorpio with support for 4K games planned for later next year.
