According to sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Sony is considering cutting its smartphone sales target, due to fierce competition in emerging markets.
The current target of 43 million units sold between April 2014 and March 2015 is likely to be cut by several million. Such a move would be the second downward revision in a year, as the target began at 50 million. The sources said that Sony plans to reduce its smartphone presence in some markets, especially emerging nations, by removing its entry-level handsets.
