What They Say
DNP of Japan said that it has installed its largest ever Supernova Infinity display is a modular screen system, featuring ALR (Ambient Light Rejection technology). It has an 18.3 metre (724″!) diagonal in a 32:9 format and is located in an office tower in Tokyo.
”The panels are perfectly joined and the entire display looks astonishingly seamless. Many visitors have mistaken the dnp Supernova Infinity installation for a huge LED screen for its amazing quality”
said Kunihiro Kobori, conference coordinator sub manager from Infield Inc which manages the hall.
Projection for the screen is provided by two Panasonic PT-RQ22KJ laser projectors, said to be the world’s smallest and lightest 4K projectors in the 20,000 lumens class.
What We Think
It’s a while since I last reported on a projection screen. Although this kind of system could not really be called cheap (the projectors alone sell for around €100K each), it would look cheap compared to an LED wall of this size and would give great performance in an environment where the ambient light can be controlled, such as this.
