Wistron and Inventec Notebook Shipping Falls in April

According to the Chinese-language, Economic Daily News, Wistron shipped 1.4 million notebooks in April, which is a drop of 26.0% compared to March. Inventec, also suffered a fall and shipped 1.3 million units in April, dropping 18.8% compared to March shipments.

In April, Wistron also shipped one million desktops, 550,000 LCD monitors and 140,000 servers, and experienced falls compared to March of 16.0%, 8.3% and 33.0% respectively. However, the company also shipped 200,000 LCD TVs with shipments remaining unchanged compared to March.

Wistron reported consolidated revenues of $1.97 billion for April, which was down 7.71% compared to March, but up 33.52% compared to the same month in 2016. Revenues for the first four months of the year were $7.55 billion, increasing 27.13% compared to the first four months of 2016.

Inventec reported consolidated revenues of $1.15 billion for April, falling 7.66% compared to March, but increased revenue by 2.16% compared to April 2016. Revenues for the first four months of the year were $4.46 billion, increasing 3.96% compared to the first four months of 2016.
