Windows 10 Mobile has been expected to solve the issue of a lack of apps on the Windows smartphone platform, by making porting them over from iOS and Android a simple process. However, while the iOS version (Project Islandwood) has been shown to work, the Android equivalent (Project Astoria) is nowhere to be seen. Microsoft has said that the the app porting ‘is not going as planned’, but has released no more information. There is plenty of speculation as to the reason, but no hard facts!
