Leading LED Suppliers in 2015

The IHS Markit Packaged LED Report, published in August, showed that Nichia led with 12.9% of the market in 2015. Osram and Lumileds followed with a combined share of 14.7%. Nichia was the top supplier of mobile phone LEDs, which it provides for Apple’s iPhone. The automotive sector was dominated by Osram, which had 35% of the market. The biggest supplier of backlighting for TVs, monitors, notebooks and tablets was Samsung, with Nichia and LG Innotek second and third.
