Warranty Week did its annual round-up of warranty provision and finance in the US high-tech industries. The blog highlights the differences between 2020 and the pattern in 2008/9 and comes to the conclusion that there is no overall pattern, with winners and losers and with increasing and declining provisions. A stand-out performance was the drop in provisions by Apple from $2.6 billion last year to $1.5 billion this year.

It’s increasingly clear that ‘we’re not all in this together’ in the pandemic. Company fortunes are at widely differing extremes, as they are for families and individuals. (BR)
