Lapexpand is a project that is seeking crowdfunding on Indiegogo (http://tinyurl.com/ph7asmp), and intending to bring the full desktop experience to mobile computing. The company is developing portable, lightweight monitors (1920 x 1080) that fold down onto a laptop when not in use, and can expand out when a user needs more screen real estate. The system runs on an internal battery and will last for 5-10 hours, depending on whether the user needs one or two monitors. The monitors are designed for 14″, 15″ and 17″ models and connect via HDMI or VGA.
